Veloure

A quiet-luxury sleepwear label that needed a site as considered as the product. We designed an editorial showcase, then grew it into a full hand-coded storefront with collections, variants, a size guide and a clean local checkout, without losing the restraint it launched with.

The brief

Veloure is a South African luxury sleepwear and loungewear label of robes, slip sets and nightwear built around the idea of quiet luxury: pieces designed for unhurried, private moments rather than the world's gaze.

A brand like this lives or dies on feel. The site couldn't look like a generic boutique template, it had to carry the same restraint and confidence as the product, while doing the practical work of running a store: collections, sizing, and a checkout South African customers trust.

We started with an editorial single-page showcase to establish the look, then extended it into a full e-commerce experience.

The design

The whole system is built on restraint. A neutral palette of ivory, noir and dusty rose sits under large serif headlines and generous whitespace, with italic accents carrying the brand's voice: "Luxury is not loud, it is felt."

Full-bleed lifestyle photography does the work, chosen and cropped to show drape and fabric movement rather than flat product shots. The layout gets out of the way so the imagery and the few, deliberate words can land.

01 / What we built

A showcase that quietly became a store.

01

The collections

A curated collection grid of Lune Noire, the Signature Robe, Noire Femme and Fantasy, each with its own imagery and entry point, filtered client-side with no database to maintain.

02

Product & variants

A featured product experience with material detail (100% mulberry satin), colour and size options, gift packaging, and add-to-bag.

03

Size guide

A full XS to XL chart across bust, waist and hip, framed around pieces "designed to drape with ease."

04

The Veloure experience

Three brand pillars (Curate Your Ritual, Gifted Packaging, Yours to Keep) that carry the feeling, not the spec sheet.

05

Checkout & delivery

A PayFast checkout for local cards and instant EFT, with The Courier Guy delivery, tracking, and a clear 14-day returns promise.

06

Contact & concierge

A contact form plus direct WhatsApp and Instagram links, with a 24-hour response commitment for a high-touch feel.

The pipeline

Like everything SED11Q ships, Veloure is hand-coded. No theme or page builder between the brand and the result. That control is what lets the site feel bespoke rather than configured.

Deployment runs through GitHub Actions: a push to the production branch deploys the live site automatically, and a separate staging branch deploys a preview environment first, so the client sees every change before customers do. No manual file copying, no "did the upload finish?", no drift between what was approved and what shipped.
